My friend and yoga colleague Fi, gave us this delicious savoury snack at a meeting of our Highland Perthshire Yoga and Wellbeing meeting last year. I love it, have just made another batch tonight and it’s a favourite with the Thursday morning yoga class at my Perth Yoga Studio – each week I take various bakings to the class to bribe them to keep coming – seems to work 😊
Very easy to make –
2 cups/measures of spelt flour
3 cups/measures of a mixture of what you have in the cupboard. I usually put in one cup of mixed, ground nuts; then two more cups of a mixture of mixed seeds, linseeds, chia seeds, sesame seeds – really whatever you have handy.
Mix all the dry ingredients together then add two tablespoons of olive oil and similar of boiling water to make a paste.
This next bit is the only thing you need some patience with - you then put it on a baking tray with baking parchment and spread it out with your hands. Takes a while but gradually you thin it out and spread it evenly to the edges of the tray.
Sprinkle with sea salt – I sprinkle on quite a lot, as the photo above and bake at 150c for about 45/50 minutes.
Then all you have to do is break it up into bits and watch it disappear when your friends/yoga students spy you have brought it again 😊
